1. Who We Are

Polish B1 Exam Practice is an educational mobile app designed to help users prepare for the Polish language exam at B1 level through practice tasks, exam simulations, score tracking, and progress review.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the Polish B1 Exam Practice mobile app
  • website pages related to the app, including support and contact pages
  • support or other communications you send to us by email or through our website

3. No Account Registration

The app does not require account creation or login to use its core functionality.

4. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide the app's core functionality, the app may store certain study-related information locally on your device, including:

  • task results
  • exam history
  • selected exam date
  • reminder settings

This study-related information is stored locally on your device and is not stored on our own servers as part of a user account.

If you delete the app or clear app data, this locally stored information may be lost.

5. Audio Recording and Speech Recognition

When you use speaking exercises, the app records your voice through your device's microphone. This requires your explicit permission, which you can grant or revoke at any time in your device settings.

  • On-device transcription: Your speech is transcribed in real time using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. This processing happens on your device and the transcription is not sent to Apple's servers.
  • AI assessment: Compressed audio recordings of your spoken responses are sent to Google (Gemini AI) via Firebase AI Logic for evaluation and scoring. Audio is processed in real time and is not stored on Google's servers or on our servers after assessment is complete.
  • Local storage: Audio recordings may be temporarily stored on your device during a practice or exam session and are deleted after assessment.

You can use the app without speaking exercises. If you do not grant microphone permission, all other features remain fully functional.

6. Information Processed Through Third-Party Services

Although your study-related progress data is stored locally on your device, the app uses third-party services that may process limited technical, analytics, diagnostics, security, and subscription-related information in order to operate, support, and improve the app.

These services may include:

  • Apple, for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, and subscription processing
  • RevenueCat, for subscription management, purchase validation, and restore purchases
  • Firebase Crashlytics, for crash reporting and diagnostics
  • Firebase Analytics, for app analytics
  • Firebase AI Logic (Google Gemini), for AI-powered evaluation of user-submitted text and audio recordings in speaking and writing exercises
  • Apple Speech Recognition, for on-device speech-to-text transcription during speaking exercises
  • Firebase App Check, for app security and abuse prevention
  • Amplitude, for product analytics
  • AppMetrica, for analytics and diagnostics
  • AppsFlyer, for install attribution and marketing campaign measurement

Depending on the service, device, app configuration, and your settings, these providers may process information such as:

  • app events and feature usage
  • device-related identifiers
  • technical diagnostics
  • crash data
  • subscription or purchase status
  • approximate usage information related to app performance and reliability
  • audio recordings of spoken responses during speaking exercises, sent to Google (Gemini) for assessment and not stored on our servers

We do not directly collect or store your payment card details. Subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.

We do not use personal data for third-party advertising.

We use AppsFlyer for install attribution to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. With your explicit consent (via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt), we may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for more accurate attribution. You can decline this request with no impact on app functionality. We also use Apple's SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving attribution that does not identify individual users.

7. Notifications

The app may use local notifications on your device, for example to remind you about your selected exam date or study schedule.

These notifications are generated locally on the device and do not require us to maintain a remote user account for you.

10. Legal Bases Under GDPR

If the GDPR or other applicable EU data protection laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to provide the app or requested support
  • legitimate interests, such as improving app functionality, understanding usage, monitoring reliability, preventing abuse, and maintaining security
  • legal obligation, where processing is required by law
  • consent, where required by applicable law

11. Data Sharing

Where required by applicable law, such transfers are based on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

To exercise your rights, contact us at: b1simhelp@gmail.com

Please note that most study-related progress data is stored locally on your device and not on our servers, so our ability to access, correct, or delete that local data for you may be limited.

15. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed in connection with the app, website, and support communications. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

16. General Audience

The app is intended for general users preparing for the Polish language exam at B1 level and is not specifically directed to children.
